Hello friends!

Thank you for signing up for updates about the upcoming Tod’s Nanaimo Infusion event April 24-26, 2026.

The First Annual Tod’s Nanaimo Infusion, April 2025

What is this again?

Tod’s Nanaimo Infusion is a weekend where Jocelyn and I invite visitors from anywhere in the world to come to our beautiful Vancouver Island and take in the scenery, amazing food, hospitality, and relaxed pace. (If you missed the first one last April, here’s a bit about it.) You do not have to be a healthcare worker to attend.

But I AM a healthcare worker!

Even better! Come check out why dozens of nurses, doctors, and clinicians are flooding to Vancouver Island to build a safe, sane life — people like these folks!

✅ Hospital tours for healthcare workers: Island Health provides health services to residents of Vancouver Island through hospitals, clinics, health centres, and long‑term care facilities. They have online information sessions and guided tours at Nanaimo Hospital during the Infusion weekend! You can sign up here (healthcare workers only please).

Wait, was I supposed to register?

Not at all! This isn’t a ticketed event, or anything similar. It’s just an invitation! All you need to do is book your transportation and accommodation and show up! All the details for both are at the bottom of the web page https://2026.nanaimoinfusion.ca

Do you have cool stores we can check out?

OMG do we! Watch this short 1 minute video (yes, that’s me singing… sorry…)

I’m a local — how do I help?

There isn’t any need for volunteers, but you can help in two ways:

  1. Come down to Maffeo Sutton park for the Saturday photo (Apr 25 12pm) and greet our visitors!

  2. Join the Discord and go to the 🤝🏻-adopt-a-visitor channel find a visitor to “adopt” (it’s just like an informal buddy system — maybe pick them up at the ferry? Show them your favourite hiking trail? Join them for lunch?)

How do I get to Nanaimo? Where do I stay?

Answers to your most frequently asked questions like travel and accommodations at are at the bottom of the web page https://2026.nanaimoinfusion.ca

What’s this about a red lanyard?

We ask that people wear any red lanyard you can find. That way, we know who’s here as part of the Infusion. You can buy one from this small Canadian maker if you want, or pick them up wherever you choose. They’re not mandatory; just recommended.

Is the waterfront worth the visit alone?

YUP.

When is the official event?

There is only one “official” event — a big family photo at Maffeo Sutton park downtown. It’ll happen on Saturday April 25th at noon. (Leave lots of time if you’re driving — parking is limited there!)

Join the Discord!

Honestly, our Discord is the best part of this.

  • We have channels for parents, friends of Bill W., LGBTQ+ travellers, singles…

  • We have a channel for people wanting to move to Canada, with locals who’ve done it!

  • A whole bunch of channels for every activity you can do in Nanaimo: beer, live music, food, hiking, biking, fishing, yarn, bookstores, and a lot more!

  • We even have an 🤝🏻-adopt-a-visitor channel where local Nanaimo people are waiting to pair up with you, pick you up at the ferry, show you around town, etc.!

So join our Discord and the hundreds of people already there!

See you next month!

❤ Tod and Jocelyn
