So far, half of the people coming to check out Vancouver Island during the Tod’s Nanaimo Infusion weekend work in healthcare (or their spouse does)!

🏥 HOSPITAL OPEN HOUSE
Friday, April 24, 1-4pm open house, Room P1021, Nanaimo Hospital — no pre-registration needed. Island Health (our regional public health employer) people will be there to walk you through the jobs here, career paths, introduce you to local leaders, etc!
🌲 INFO TABLES
From 11am-2pm at the family photo event (see below), we will have information tables for you to talk to local experts about immigration, housing, jobs in healthcare, schools, and more.

Where are people coming from?
All over! Have a look at the interactive map. Blue dots mean at least one healthcare worker is the group!
What’s with the red lanyards?
Don’t forget to wear a red lanyard (any kind will do). Many downtown stores are offering discounts to lanyard people during Infusion weekend, and the Nanaimo Art Gallery will be free if you are wearing one!

Should we book accommodation now?
OMG yes! Some hotels in town have already booked up, and we are expecting about double last year’s attendance, so I’d lock in now.
When is the official “family photo” event?
There is only one “official” event — a big family photo at Maffeo Sutton park [map] downtown. It’ll happen on Saturday April 25th at noon.
🅿️ Warning: With hundreds of people coming, parking will fill up early. Consider car-pooling, taking a cab, or walking (it’s only a 10-minute walk from downtown). Here are some other parking options nearby: parking.nanaimoinfusion.ca
Is there official merch?
LOL no. But if you’d like to help us pay for some of this (table rentals, signage, etc.), we’d love you to check out our I Stand With Canada or Relentless Decency t-shirts and hoodies. They’re made locally right here on Vancouver Island!
Can our Canadian town do this too?
Absolutely! Jocelyn and I are working on a Tourism Infusion Handbook with everything you need to replicate this for your own community. Expect that in May/June. Details here.
